The Australian Girard Seminar (founded in 2011) is a group of Australians and others from the Asia-Pacific region seeking to understand and apply the mimetic theory of René Girard in a range of real world situations. While its founders are professional academics, its members are drawn from community, organizational and corporate contexts, as well as the worlds of counseling, teaching, writing, and pastoral work.

Our aim is to provide a support network, resources and opportunities for gathering to as many people as possible. We have an annual conference, as well as regular reading groups where members and friends can gather to read and reflect on Girard and other leading Girardian writers. These groups are currently meeting in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Hobart and Adelaide.
